Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conducted a visit to meet with defense personnel in the Pokrovsk area on the weekday. The president confirmed that he met with warriors at the military base of the initial brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya zone, an urban center approximately a short distance from the city.

Volatile Situation in Pokrovsk

Recent mapping from a Ukrainian project revealed that opposition armies had pushed further into the city and surrounding areas, though a large portion remained beyond firm control by both forces. The status is precarious, with updates indicating that opposition troops were establishing defenses and building up positions in certain areas.

Opposition armies are making progress in the Pokrovsk direction and appear to be operating with growing ease within urban Pokrovsk.

Research institutes noted that national troops had freed a large area of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya direction, on the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk operation.

Kyiv's Aerial Attacks Inside Russia

Kyiv's aerial vehicles struck a factory approximately 1,300km inside Russia at the city. Local officials confirmed a blast at the industrial complex that resulted in structural damage to partially collapse, adding that the origin of the detonation was unconfirmed. The Ukrainian military general staff stated there was extensive harm to the plant.

Defense units confirmed attacking a Lukoil oil refinery at the city in the federal district to the east of the capital. The level of destruction was being assessed. The local official acknowledged a strike by 20 drones near Kstovo.

Moscow's Military Legal Adjustments

National guard personnel will now have to secure petroleum plants against aerial attacks after the Russian leader approved legislation on the start of the week extending their entanglement in the war effort. The Russian ruler also enacted a decree allowing military conscription continuously whereas earlier it occurred only during limited periods in cooler seasons. Moscow legally bars recruits from being sent to battle, but after their defense commitment they join the reserve forces, exposing them to potential of being sent to war.

Heavy military spending have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with Moscow raising taxes to address growing shortfalls.

Ukrainian Leader's Appeals for Allied Help

Zelenskyy urged the US to stay receptive to supplying Kyiv with far-reaching military equipment. Speaking at an EU meeting from the conflict zone, the Ukrainian president also requested more global measures on the nation – including on fuel and power segments – and said he desired European Union membership by the end of the 2020s.

International Support and Diplomatic Developments

The federal republic plans to boost armed assistance to the eastern European country by a substantial amount next year to about a significant sum, the economic authority in the capital said on the weekday.
