The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in the state of California aged 55.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The celebrated game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
