The Streaming Giant Casts Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed this week that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bentham. This character can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a version of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the source material and animated series.
Escola will work alongside several other new cast members who will portray the organization to the screen, featuring leader the main antagonist, portrayed by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.
Even though Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
