The former Liverpool manager admits rejoining to lead Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Anfield in 2024, remarked that returning someday is an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-year spell which brought Champions League success and the Premier League crown for three decades, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won the league title in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who adore the manager would welcome the possibility of his potential comeback. Speaking candidly, he told Steven Bartlett: “I declared I refuse to lead any other side in England. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...yes. In theory, it could happen.”

“I’m 58, so I could make the decision down the line, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on the specific conditions would need to occur to draw him back to management, he confessed he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “It's unclear to me, I enjoy my current role,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing in the rain through long matches; No need for media briefings repeatedly each week or constant media duties a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, yet sharing a meal with the players enjoying conversation, that’s nice. We won a lot of games thus frequently great spirits around the place. I can still hear the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, yet he dismissed the idea it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built balanced team. No need for concern about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Jota, whom he brought in during his tenure, and the effect for the team. The forward died tragically in a road accident with his brother recently.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the dressing room absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. A devastating blow for his teammates also. Not a single person will ever use it to justify results yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Handling this individually is challenging. Overwhelming.”
