Monarch to Share First-Hand Address on His Health Battle in TV Broadcast

The Monarch has recorded a intimate address concerning his journey with cancer, scheduled for transmission as part of this year's annual cancer awareness campaign, run by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.

The royal household stated the King would discuss his "healing process" as a person living with the disease, in a video message on this Friday at 8pm UK time.

The address, recorded at his London residence recently, will highlight the importance of cancer screening checks to help guarantee more people diagnose the disease at an early stage.

But he noted his first-hand encounter of living with cancer had revealed that "periods of great challenge of sickness can be alleviated by the kindness of others," as he thanked those who looked after those receiving treatment.

The Palace has not revealed what kind of cancer the King has, or the medical care he has been given. The King's cancer was detected following he had undergone a prostate procedure.
