Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the United States has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
