Wilfried Nancy insisted he was not afraid of losing his job, claiming, “I believe we are really close to things turning around,” in the wake of edging perilously close to the exit with a comprehensive setback against Rangers.

Another Capitulation Leads to Old Firm Defeat

Celtic had led Rangers at the break but a second-half capitulation let Danny Röhl’s team to move level on points with the current Scottish Premiership champions. The former MLS manager, who was appointed from the MLS, has now presided over six losses in eight matches.

Nancy’s Persistent Belief

“There were many, many good things that we did, as was the case today. However it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My narrative would change the same. That’s why I am convinced we will manage to turn things around.”

Röhl’s Cautious Stance

Rangers manager was cautious about a serious challenge in spite of what felt like a landmark win. “Step by step, so we can gradually build momentum,” he said. “The belief in the squad is excellent.”
